Jeremy Van Cleve

Principal Investigator

Jeremy grew up in wonderful Santa Fe, NM and attended Oberlin College. After Oberlin, he spent a year in Boulder, CO working with Rob Guralnick at the University of Colorado. He then completed a Ph.D. at Stanford University in the laboratory of Marc Feldman. From late 2009 to 2012, he was a SFI Omidyar Fellow at the Santa Fe Institute. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Evolutionary Synthesis Center (NESCent) during 2013–2014. Jeremy started as an Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky in 2014.

David Espinosa

Graduate student

David received his bachelor’s degree from UNAM. Since 2020, he has been working on evolutionary theory and population genetics.

Kathryn Greene

Graduate student

Kathryn received her BS in biology from Davidson College in 2018. At the Davidson College Herpetology lab, she investigated the dispersal behavior of juvenile spotted salamanders and assisted with long-term projects including monitoring the diamondback terrapin population at Kiawah Island. Working with Dr. Steven Price, Kathryn is investigating the effects of mountaintop removal mining and valley filling on stream salamander populations. Her interests include hiking, camping, conservation biology, and herpetology.

Elliott Greene

Elliott received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is in his third year in the Biology graduate program.

Rokeya received her BS and MS from Jahangirnagar University and is in her first year in Biology at UK.

Taylor Kessinger

Postdoc

Taylor obtained a PhD from the University of Tübingen where he worked with Richard Neher at the Max-Planck Institute for Developmental Biology. Previously, Taylor obtained a B.S. from the University of Arizona where he worked with Joanna Masel.

Luc Dunoyer

Graduate student

Luc is a French biologist interested in inter-species interactions, species behavior, and ecosystem engineering using crayfish in freshwater streams. He was co-advised by Dr. Ashley Seifert and Dr. Jeremy Van Cleve.

Lauren was a senior at the University of Kentucky majoring in Economics and Mathematics.
